Bengaluru Weather

Bengaluru rains have been a happy affair during the month of May. While the first 15 days of the month of May were dry and hot for the city of Bengaluru, rains did pick up pace during the last two weeks of the month.

So much so that the city of Bengaluru witnessed a whopping 123 mm of rainfall in 2 days with 83 mm of rain on Saturday and 40 mm rain on Sunday. However, good Pre-Monsoon showers then took a backseat over Bengaluru.

These weather conditions were attributed to the presence of Cyclone Mora. The cyclone was pulling away all the moisture towards itself leaving Bengaluru dry for the last two days. Now, the cyclonic storm has crossed Bangladesh coast.

Meanwhile, Southwest Monsoon has made an onset over Kerala and Northeast India. With this, rain intensity is expected to witness an increase over Kerala and adjoining areas. In fact, rain belt will also cover parts of West Coast with rainfall witnessing an increase over Mumbai, Pune and its adjoining areas.

However, for the next 2 to 3 days, Bengaluru and its adjoining areas will remain dry. So much so that rainfall activity will continue to be on the backfoot until June 3. While isolated weather activity cannot be ruled out, the possibility of good showers seems to be ruled out.

However, by June 3, Pre-Monsoon showers will pick up pace and good rainfall will once again make a comeback over the garden city. These showers will continue over Bengaluru until Monsoon arrives.
