Rains in Bengaluru took a backseat after appearing on April 16. During that time, the city had recorded moderate rains to the tune of 12 mm.  Currently, both the day and night temperatures of Bengaluru are settling near the normal levels.

Now, conditions are once again becoming conducive for some rains to reappear over the city.

In fact, pre-Monsoon rains generally pick up the pace in the month of April and increase significantly during the month of May. Till date, the city has recorded a total of 26 mm of rains as against its monthly mean of 41.5 mm.

Currently, the wind discontinuity is also running from Rayalaseema to Tamil Nadu across South Interior Karnataka.

In the wake of this, scattered rain and thundershowers are expected to pay a visit over parts of South Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru in the next 24-48 hours. On account of this, the temperatures may also witness a marginal drop.

While the intensity of these rains would remain light in nature, isolated pockets of the city may also record moderate showers. The duration of these rains would be short-lived and would occur during the late afternoon hours which is one of the characteristics of pre-Monsoon rains. Thereafter, the weather would become dry.
