Bengaluru rains to reappear after a brief break; to reduce over Gadag, Koppal

After receiving rains for three consecutive days starting from May 14, rains over Bengaluru took a break and for the last two days, the weather of the city is dry. Along with this, parts of South Interior Karnataka have also remained dry. On the other hand, the northern and coastal stations of Karnataka have been receiving some light to moderate with isolated very heavy rains.

Within the span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, Mangaluru recorded a whopping 82.6 mm of rains, Gadag 32.9 mm, Shirali 29 mm, Belgaum 22.7 mm, Chitradurga 12 mm, Koppal 9.8 mm and Bagalkot witnessed 6 mm of rains.

The month of May has proved to be a constructive month in terms of rainfall, so much so that Bengaluru managed to surpass its monthly average of 107 mm with a massive difference within the first fifteen days of the month.

As per Skymet Weather, a trough can be seen extending from South Interior Karnataka to Kerala. In the wake of this, rains are likely to reappear over South Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru in the next 24 hours. Thus, the capital of Karnataka would receive few good spells of rain on May 20 and 21.

On the contrary, rains over parts of North Interior Karnataka is anticipated to reduce now, however, isolated rains may continue. In addition to this, the coastal districts of the state like Mangaluru, Honnavar, Shirali, and Karwar may get to witness some scattered showers.
