The city of Bengaluru has been receiving good rains for the past few days. In fact, during the last 24 hours as well, some rains were seen.

Now, as per weathermen at Skymet, good rains may be seen in Bengaluru tomorrow, with showers likely to be on the heavier side over some parts of the capital city of Karnataka. The possibility of waterlogging and some difficulties of some sort cannot be ruled out as well.

These rains will be attributed to the changeover taking place as a precursor to the Northeast Monsoon in terms of circulation. At the moment, a Circulation is seen over Gulf of Mannar and adjoining Sri Lanka and Comorin region. A circulation is also over the Lakshadweep region and a system is over southwest Bay. A trough is also extending up to Telangana across Karnataka.

The month of October this year so far has been one of the rainiest so far with over 300 mm already recorded over the city. The 300 mm mark has been exceeded twice for October, last in the year 2014 and 2017 in the past decade or so. The normal rains for October stand at 168 mm only.

Good rains were seen between October 10 and 16. However, the last three days have seen very light rains which is why the temperatures have risen a bit, settling two degrees above the normal levels both minimum and maximum.

The month of October happens to be the rainiest month of Northeast Monsoon, with rains slowing down in November and reducing to a mere 15 mm in December.
