Bengaluru weather has been kind enough for the residents of the capital city of Karnataka. So much so that the garden city of India has been able to easily surpass its monthly mean well before its scheduled date.

In fact, the last 48 hours have been quite rainy for Bengaluru. While the city recorded a massive 83 mm of rainfall a day before, the last 24 hours were also rainy enough. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, the city recorded a whopping 40 mm of rainfall.

So far, during the entire month of May, Bengaluru has been able to record a whopping 241 mm of rain. The monthly average rainfall during the month of May in Bengaluru stands at 107.4 mm of rain. This means, that this year, Bengaluru has been able to receive more than twice the amount of rains.

These weather conditions have been attributed to the presence of back to back troughs and cyclonic circulations over the region.

As per weathermen at Skymet, these rains are expected to continue during the next 24 hours as well. While the intensity of these showers will not be as high as yesterday, light to moderate rains will continue. In fact, some sharp spells also cannot be ruled out over the capital city of Karnataka.

Not only this, these on and off rains are expected to continue over the city until Monsoon 2017 makes an appearance.
