Apart from Bengaluru, other areas of Karnataka that witnessed rains during the past 24 hours include Bellary which recorded a whopping 82 mm. Rest all places observed light to moderate showers such as Mangaluru 22 mm, Vijayapura 20 mm, Dharwad 12 mm, Gadag 9 mm, Agumbe 8 mm, Koppal 7 mm, Belgaum 4 mm and Madikeri 2 mm.
As per Skymet Weather, these showers could be attributed to several weather features over and around the region. A cyclonic circulation is seen over North Tamil Nadu and neighboring South Karnataka. Another circulation is persisting over west-central Bay of Bengal off South Coastal Odisha. From this system, an upper air trough is running up to North Tamil Nadu.
Weathermen expect these weather systems to move slightly westward, and so, light to moderate rains will occur over Bengaluru during the next few days.
