With intermittent rainfall activity, the city of Bengaluru has surpassed its monthly average rainfall that stands at 107.4 mm. In fact, during the last week, the capital city of Karnataka has recorded 113 mm of rainfall.
During the last 24 hours as well, Bengaluru recorded light rains, thus pleasant weather conditions are prevailing over the region. So far in May, the garden city has recorded 118.4 mm of rain. In wake of this, the maximum temperatures have also remained close to 35 degree-mark.
Further, with few days left in the month of May, this light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely to continue over South Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru. Isolated heavy spells also cannot be ruled out.
According to weather reports, Bengaluru receives more than 100 mm of monthly rainfall from May to October. The cyber city observes good spell of showers during the Southwest Monsoon as well as Northeast Monsoon.

At present, a feeble trough extends over South Interior Karnataka. This is the reason that rains will continue for the next few days. Gradually these pre-Monsoon showers will amalgamate with Monsoon rains.
Normally during the first week of June, Monsoon reaches over Bengaluru and this year we expect Monsoon 2017 to arrive on time.
