After a brief break of two days, Bengaluru rains once again showed upon the city. Light spells occurred over the city in the last 48 hours. Apart from Bengaluru, most parts of Karnataka also recorded some light traces of rains.
These rains were mainly confined to the coastal districts and South Interior districts of the state. Though the intensity of rains was mainly light in intensity.
Within the span of 24 hours from 08:30 am as on Sunday, Bengaluru recorded 3 mm of rains, Mangaluru 3.9 mm and Chitradurga witnessed some light traces of rains.
As per Skymet Weather, at present rains have already commenced over parts of Bengaluru. The Garden city was already witnessing cloudy weather and rains followed soon. This has made the weather across parts of the city to turn pleasant once again.

These rains are due to a trough that is extending from the southwest Bay of Bengal off the Sri Lanka coast to Lakshadweep across the south of Kerala. Moreover, moderate easterly winds are also prevailing over South Karnataka.

These winds are moist and warm in nature and will move across South Karnataka. Therefore, the hilly areas of the state may see thundershowers. The short spell of thundershowers or rain is possible in many parts of South Karnataka. The stations lying along the coastline of the state may also witness light spells. Few moderate spells are also expected to continue in Bengaluru for next 24 hours and will reduce thereafter.
