Bengaluru weather had remained dry for a long time now. So much so that the capital city of Karnataka had not seen any rainfall activity for the past two weeks. The last time it rained over the city of Bengaluru was during the beginning of the month.

Since then, the weather conditions have remained dry over the region and temperatures have been settling in the early 30s. Meanwhile, the minimum temperatures have remained in the early 20s.

However, rain gods decided to pay the residents of Bengaluru a visit yesterday. Thunderclouds had developed during the late evening hours and good rains were observed between 7 pm and 8 pm. In a span if 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Bengaluru recorded showers of moderate intensity to the tune of 11.8 mm.

Some places even witnessed waterlogging and traffic jams for short duration which caused chaos over the city.

These rainfall activities can be attributed to the presence of a trough which has been running from Madhya Maharashtra across Karnataka region up to Tamil Nadu.

Now, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, these rains will take a backseat and only isolated thunderstorm activity may occur. However, another good spell of rains is expected to occur over the city of Bengaluru around April 20. Until then, no heavy showers are likely.
