The month of March has been dry for the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar wherein neither of the two states was able to record any good spell of rains. Barring one or two occasions when a few locations in both the states witnessed some isolated spells, the month remained dry.

This is the reason that dry weather has been prevalent in most parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Due to the persistent dry weather, the temperatures also shot up and settled a few notches above the normal levels, under the bracket of 36-38 degrees Celsius in most parts of East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar.

On the other hand, the temperatures of West Uttar Pradesh were satisfactory and mainly remained under the range of 35 degrees Celsius.

However, the weather conditions of both the states took a U-turn as April began. For the last two to three days, rainfall activities have been occurring over the states of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Due to this, the temperatures which were settling above normal, dipped and remained near or even below normal over both Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

As per Skymet Weather, now, a trough is expected to form over the western parts of Uttar Pradesh in the next 24 hours. This weather activity is likely to give isolated thunderstorm and dust storm with light rains in the next 24 hours over the western parts of the states in the districts like Bareilly, Moradabad, Lucknow, and Kanpur.

Bihar, on the other hand, would remain mainly dry. However, these rain activities would not affect the temperatures much as these are the pre-Monsoon showers, they would stick to their nature and would occur during the late afternoon or evening hours when the temperatures already peak.

Thereafter, the weather is expected to become dry again and temperatures would start witnessing a rise. Henceforth, another episode of rain and thundershowers along with isolated dust storm is expected to reappear around April 7 or 8.

This round of rain would affect almost entire Uttar Pradesh. However, these showers would be of short duration and patchy in nature. During this time, the western parts of Bihar like Chhapra, Bhojpur, Buxar, Saran, Gopalganj, and Sivan may also receive some isolated pre-Monsoon rains.
