The system has brought torrential rains in several parts of Tamil Nadu including Chennai during last 2 days. Andhra Pradesh has also come under its purview and now it’s time for Odisha to brace up for heavy to extremely heavy showers.
Roanu brought 30 mm of rainfall in Bangalore, taking the cumulative rain figure to 86 mm for May. This is the second spell of good showers in Bangalore this month after May 6, when the city had received 47 mm of rain. With a monthly mean of 110 mm, it wouldn’t be much difficult for the city to cross the average rainfall of 110 mm for May.

As have been reiterated by Skymet, a cyclonic storm in its wake dominates weather activity and formation of other systems in its proximity. The wind discontinuity which keeps oscillating during the pre-Monsoon season over Peninsular India is also missing at present. Therefore, we can say that no weather system will form in this part of the country for next 3 to 4 days.
Thereafter, the weather system brewing in the Arabian Sea will gain enough strength to bring intense weather activity in Bangalore. Gradually, Monsoon will start making its presence felt as we come close to the onset date of Monsoon 2016.
For the time being, temperatures will not rise to a great extent. Today afternoon at about 2.30 pm the mercury was settled at 28°C. So we can expect pleasant weather conditions to prevail till the onset of Monsoon.
