While Bangalore weather was exceptionally hot and dry during the entire month of April, May began on a rainy note for the capital city of Karnataka. So much so that the city recorded a whopping 47 mm of rain in just a span of 24 hours.

Presently, both minimum and maximum temperatures in Bangalore have been settling quite close to the normal levels. These conditions are attributed to the rains that have been resulting in comfortable weather over the city.

While Bangalore has not received any rain in the past 24 hours, the city may receive some rain and thundershowers during the next 24 hours. The wind discontinuity, which is a semi-permanent feature during the Pre-Monsoon is currently seen from Vidarbha to North Tamil Nadu across South Interior Karnataka.

Several districts of South Interior Karnataka including Bangalore will receive patchy rain during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, the trough will shift towards Coastal Karnataka and Kerala and weather will go dry over Bangalore and its adjoining areas.

However, due to the oscillation of trough towards Bangalore in the next week, the silicon city of India will once again start receiving rain May 18 onward. During that time moderate showers are expected over the city and temperatures may witness a significant drop of 3 to 4 degrees resulting in cool and pleasant weather over Bangalore.
