After a parched and hot April, Bangalore rains decided to make its presence during the month of May. So much so that the city also managed to receive way more rains than its monthly average rainfall for the month.
Come June and weather conditions decided to become even more pleasant. So far the silicon city has received good rains. After remaining dry on June 5, Bangalore rains have continued for two consecutive days.
These Pre-Monsoon showers usually occur during the late evening hours. Yesterday evening also, light rains lashed some parts of the city. However, other areas of Bangalore recorded heavy rains as well.
In fact, many areas complained of traffic snarls and water logging. Also, uprooting of trees was reported in some parts of the city. Rains continued in Bangalore during the night hours as well resulting in a dip in minimums over the silicon city.
These rains can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation, which is currently over Telangana and adjoining Marathwada. A trough is also running from Rajasthan across Madhya Pradesh up to Rayalaseema. In addition to these weather systems, moist winds from the Arabian Sea have also been resulting in some moisture incursion over the region.
Temperatures will remain under check, with pleasant weather conditions prevailing over the city. On and off showers will continue over Bangalore until Monsoon 2016 makes its onset over the capital city of Karnataka.
