Bangalore weather continued to be hot throughout the month of April. With hardly any rains, temperatures continued to be on the higher side resulting in discomfort all along. So much so that the mercury soared close to 40 degrees as well.

However, as May approached, light rains began to lash the silicon city bringing in marginal relief. The city in the first week of May recorded 47 mm of rain in 24 hours. A good spell of rain was observed on May 18 and 19, when Cyclone Roanu wreaked havoc over the East Coast.

Thereafter, Bangalore weather turned dry resulting in an increase in temperatures. Between May 19 and 29, maximums continued to settle above 32 degrees. However, on May 28, the city recorded 15 mm of rain. Traces of rains were also recorded yesterday.

These rains have been attributed to the feeble trough along the West Coast. Also, moist winds from the sea have been increasing the moisture incursion resulting in cloud formation. Due to these rains, maximum temperature in Bangalore has taken a sharp dip.

Currently, the maximum in Bangalore is settling at 28.4 degrees, which is 5 degrees below the normal levels. Looks like Bangalore has finally got its pleasant weather crown back.

On and off showers will continue over Bangalore for the next few days until the onset of Monsoon over the city. After that these thundershowers will be replaced by Monsoon rains and the temperatures will remain under check.
