Pair of western disturbances will keep the activity going over the hilly areas of North India. A weak western disturbance will arrive late tonight and will be followed by another one, on 04thApril. The two systems are nearly overlapping each other and therefore the weather activity will be continuous across the mid and higher peaks of northern mountains. The lower hills and foothills will have cloudy sky with light intermittent showers, mostly during late evening and night. Adjacent plains will have a very brief stint of weather activity, that too, in the evening and night.
Snowfall will remain confined to the elevated areas, above 15,000’. Rain and thundershowers are expected over the lower parts, intermittent in nature and sufficient breaks in between. Weather activity is expected mainly on three days, 03rd, 04th & 05thApril. Srinagar, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Dalhousie, Dharamshala, Kullu, Manali, Kangra, Shimla are likely to have simultaneous weather activity. Weather activity over the state of Uttarakhand will be further lean and thin.
An induced circulation over northwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas will trigger a brief spell of rain and thundershowers over the foothills and parts of North Rajasthan and Punjab. Rain and thundershowers are expected at few places like Pathankot, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Bhatinda, Ferozepur, Chandigarh, Ambala, Karnal and Hisar. Even, the national capital can expect a short spell of rain on 03rd and 05thApril. This wet spell will keep the temperatures under check. These are unlikely to surpass 35°C mark and may remain confined to low 30’s. Broad clearance in weather conditions is likely from 06th onward and last till 09thApril.
