The second week of February brought rain and hailstorms for Marathwada region in Maharashtra. Since then, the weather has remained dry. In the wake of dry weather, the temperatures rose gradually and settled a few notches beyond the normal.
The last 24 hours were also no different for the region as most places of the region recorded the maximums beyond their normal range. In the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature of both Aurangabad and Parbhani increased by 3 degrees each and settled at 34.1°C and 35.9°C respectively.
The reason for the continuous dry and warm weather can be associated with the absence of any rain giving weather systems.
As per Skymet Weather, as of now also, no significant weather system is anticipated to prevail over the region. Due to this, dry and warm weather along with bright sunny days would continue to prevail over most parts of Marathwada.

The maximum temperatures are expected to remain on the higher side and may continue to settle in the upper 30’s. The minimums, on the other hand, may rise further by 1-2 degrees making the nights also slightly warmer.

In Marathwada region, the orchard of Banana, Orange, Sweet Lime, Grapes, Pomegranate and Lemon were affected by rains and hailstorms that occurred during the second week of February. As the weather is dry and clear now, farmers are advised to clean the affected orchard by removing rotten fruits, branches, and remnants of the crops.
To restrict the flower and fruit drop in Ambe Bahar crops, it is recommended to the farmers to take appropriate steps. The farmers of Marathwada region are advised to provide irrigation to the orchard crops as per requirement. Undertake harvesting of matured Orange, sweet lime, Grape, and pomegranate. Also, farmers must handle the harvested fruits with utmost care.
