August to end on a rainy note in Delhi NCR

August 25, 2017 12:34 PM | Skymet Weather Team

After receiving good spell of rain and thundershowers on August 23, the weather over Delhi and NCR has went almost dry. These weather conditions could be attributed to the shift of axis of Monsoon trough towards south of Delhi. At present too, the trough is running across South Haryana and North Madhya Pradesh.

Moreover, the southeasterly winds are prevailing over the region that is moist in nature. These winds are increasing the humidity levels over Delhi and NCR.

With this, possibilities of isolated rain of short duration cannot be ruled out today as well as tomorrow over the national capital. However we expect one or two moderate spells over the region on August 27.

Further, the Monsoon trough is expected to shift north and may run from Haryana to Odisha across Delhi around August 30 or 31. During this period, several parts of Delhi along with its adjoining regions of Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad may witness good rain and thundershowers. Hence, we can say that August is going to end on a rainy note for Delhi and NCR region, making the weather quite comfortable.

Until then, the weather will remain warm and humid, with day maximums settling around 35 degrees, whereas minimum temperatures near 26-27 degrees.
