The national capital saw some record-breaking rains in July. So much so that the city recorded 355.7 mm of rain against the monthly rain of 195.8 mm in July. In fact, due to such massive rain, Delhi has crossed its annual rainfall amount.
However, the month of August has been contrasting and rainfall has been far and few. Rains have been light and a total of 91 mm of rain was recorded for Safdarjung against the normal of 226.8 mm. August is the rainiest, the only month that goes beyond 200 mm but this time it has been disappointing.
Light rains were seen in the last 24 hours wherein Safdarjung recorded 7 mm, Palam 5.3 mm, Lodhi Road 7 mm, Delhi University 9 mm, Narela 8.3 mm, Pitampura 9 mm, Salwan 17 mm. Due to this, day temperatures dropped and settled about 4-5 degrees below normal.
Now, Delhi is expected to be dry in the remaining days. Temperatures may rise and warm and humid conditions are expected to be seen. Maximums may settle between 37 and 38 degrees.
