The last 24 hours would quite good enough in terms of pollution for the city of Delhi which was under the poor category yesterday. Sky conditions were clear and visibility was quite improved.

However, it was the minimum temperature which saw a drop with winter chill being very evidently felt amongst the late night goers and morning Walkers.

Safdarjung observatory saw the minimum temperature drop to 6.3 degrees which have been the lowest of the season so far. Meanwhile, Palam recorded the minimum temperature at 7.8 degrees.

These weather conditions can be attributed to the change in wind pattern from Southwesterly to cold and dry northwesterly which have been blowing from the snow-clad mountains of North India. Along with this, clouding has cleared away and the sky has become clear which is why minimums witnessed a drop bringing in the wintry feel over the city.

As per weathermen, due to the clear sky, temperatures may drop even further over Delhi during the next 24 hours and Delhiites may get to see a chilly Christmas night.

Meanwhile, maximums continue to settle in the mid-20s making days pleasant for the residents.
