During the entire month of April, Rajasthan was not blazing hot as compared to other parts of the country. Both maximums and minimums were settling close to the normal levels despite of the region being a desert area where heat usually comes in way early than other parts.
While the western parts of Rajasthan which includes Bikaner, Phalodi, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and Barmer observe dust storms, the eastern parts including Ajmer, Kota, Alwar and Jaipur witness rains and thunderstorms quite often. The terrain feature of these areas makes the weather conditions different I these regions. The West remains warmer than the east.
The month of May began on a hot note for Rajasthan. Phalodi is currently the hottest pocket of the country. Temperatures have been settling above well above the normal levels in the city during the last three days.
Currently, the maximum in Phalodi is settling at 48 degree Celsius, which happens to be the hottest of the season. In fact, during the month of May, no city has observed such high maximums this year. A marginal dip is expected in the coming days. However, temperatures will remain in the mid-40s for a few more days.
