Delhi and adjoining cities of Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad are witnessing various shades of weather for the past few days. As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation was persisting over North Rajasthan and adjoining Haryana and Punjab. A trough was also extending from this system to West Uttar Pradesh.
These combined weather systems resulted in isolated dust storm and thundershower activity in few parts of Delhi and NCR. In fact, with the flow of southeasterly winds over Delhi and NCR, humidity level also increased over the regions.
Moreover, this cyclonic circulation was moving towards the east leading to the flow of hot southwesterly for a few hours. Thus, the day temperatures plunged up and both observatories of Delhi recorded highest maximum temperature of the season yesterday. Safdarjung recorded maximum temperature to the tune of 40°C, whereas Palam recorded 41.6°C.
Now, a trough is passing south of Delhi. Therefore, as per Skymet Weather, the sky would remain partly cloudy sky over Delhi and adjoining cities of Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad during the next two days. In fact, the temperatures are likely to settle around the similar range. Therefore, the weather will remain very uncomfortable during the next 48 hours.
Thereafter, isolated dust storm or thundershower activity may once again make a comeback between April 19 and April 20. However, these weather activities will fail to bring down the temperature levels over Delhi and NCR as the activities are expected to be patchy and short lived.
