Chilly weather altogether with pollution is making a deadly combination for the residents of Delhi- NCR.

During the last 24 hours, cold wave conditions continued to grip parts of Delhi and adjoining areas of Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad.

Moderate fog was also reported over many places with dense over isolated parts of National Capital Territory.

Talking about temperatures, minimums have dropped marginally over major areas of Delhi such as Safdarjung, Palam, Lodhi road and Aya Nagar.

Let us have a look at the temperatures across the city.

Capture DELHI

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, light surface winds are blowing presently over entire Delhi NCR. Soon these winds would change the direction and would start blowing from south-easterly direction.

Moreover, a Western Disturbance as an upper air system is likely to approach northern hills of the country within the next 24 hours. Thus, we expect a rise in minimums as well as in maximums during the next 24 to 48 hours. As a result, cold wave conditions would abate from entire Delhi NCR.

Further, moderate fog will be observed over many parts along with haziness prevailing throughout the day.  Meanwhile, sky will remain mainly clear with only a few clouds appearing over the region.

Talking about pollution, we would not see any relief from the pollution as the AQI (Air Quality Index) levels have once again entered 'very poor’ zone and the levels are further expected to deteriorate.
