The city of Mumbai has been witnessing unbearably high temperatures with heat waves also gripping the capital city. In fact, the city has been recording maximums above 37 degrees for the past four days, which is the threshold for heat waves in coastal stations.
However, it was yesterday that the weather took an even worse turn for the commercial capital of the country. Mumbai recorded a whopping 39.4 degrees Celsius as its maximum yesterday, which also happens to the highest maximum of the season so far.
While Mumbai does see maximums reaching even up to 40 degrees and beyond during the month of March, such a situation had not been observed yet over Mumbai for this season. If we look at the forecast for Mumbai, one can expect temperatures to be above normal levels with heat wave being observed for at least the next couple of days.
