At 37.5 degrees, Mumbai records highest maximum of season

February 17, 2023 3:00 PM |

The city of Mumbai becomes slightly hot in the month of February. However, the range is pretty large for this month if we see the last decade. From 34 degrees, it has gone up to 39 degrees. In 2012, the maximum had touched 39.1 degrees Celsius, while 2016 was the coldest February with the highest maximum recorded at 33.2 degrees Celsius only.

Temperatures for now are on the higher side. The average for February stands at 31.7 degrees. This time, the first half of the month has seen the average maximum at 34.3 degrees, which is quite high.

The second half of February is usually warmer than the first half, however, this time, the first half as it is has observed extremely high maximums. High levels of temperatures will sustain over the city of Mumbai. If the sea breeze sets in late, maximums are recorded on the higher side.

Yesterday, the maximum touched 37.5 degrees, which has become the highest of the season so far and is 7 degrees above normal. This was because the onset of sea breeze was a little late over Mumbai, which resulted in the rise of maximums.
