However, relief is in store for the Mumbaikars during the next 24 hours as Skymet Weather predicts the rainfall intensity to reduce now. As per Skymet Weather, for the day, the city will keep recording light to moderate Monsoon showers, however, by the evening hours, the rainfall is likely to subside further. It is anticipated that high tides may hit Mumbai and Coastal regions of Maharashtra during afternoon hours.
The wind speed over Mumbai will also reduce over the region. These hefty showers can be attributed to the east-west trough which is extending from North of Mumbai to Odisha across Central India. The offshore trough is also extending from South Konkan to Kerala and the cyclonic circulation which is persisting over North Madhya Maharashtra is likely to slope southwards.
