Delhi weather has been playing see saw on a continuous basis. There have been times when the city has observed intense weather activities while on other occasions, weather has remained dry with temperatures seeing variations.

Just about until yesterday, Delhi had been witnessing rainfall activities of varied intensity. However, rains did take a backseat and dry weather has been prevalent today.

In the wake of dry weather and persistence of sunny conditions and southeasterly winds, Delhi saw an increase in the maximums today.

In fact, Palam observatory saw the maximum soar to a whopping 29 degrees Celsius, which happens to the highest of the season. On the other hand, Safdarjung recorded its maximum at 28.1 degrees Celsius, which is the second highest today. Highest maximum this season at Safdarjung was recorded on January 20, wherein the maximum temperature settled at 28.7 degrees Celsius.

However, it looks like that such high temperatures are not here to stay.

Now, as the Western Disturbance is moving eastward, change in wind direction is likely to take place. Thus, now, icy cold northwesterly winds from the snow clad mountains of the Himalayas will be blowing over the national capital and the rest of Northern Plains.

Therefore, temperatures will once again see a drop in temperatures in the coming days.
