The city of Kota has seen heavy rains in the last 24 hours wherein it recorded 224 mm of rains, which is an all-time 24-hour rain record. The earlier rain record stands at 193.1 mm rains on August 7, 2016. These rains are attributed to the depression, which is over central parts.

Though the normal rainfall itself for August is 225.1 mm for the city. Thus, nearly all the monthly rain has been dumped in just a day. At the moment, monthly rain recorded has not been a record breaking one as the highest was seen at 675.1 mm last year for monthly showers, but we remain short of that.

System is still maintaining intensity and will continue to move over these parts including South Rajasthan and adjoining areas. Thus, Kota can expect heavy rains over the next two days or so. The next 48 hours remain favourable for more rains.
