Despite the arrival of Southwest Monsoon a little later than its usual date over the state of Jharkhand, rains have been good enough for many parts of the state. In fact, as far as the city of Jamshedpur is concerned, it has been witnessing some good spells of rains.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Jamshedpur recorded 101 mm of rains, which happens to be the third highest 24 hour rain of the decade and the highest in the last 5 years for the month of June.
With three digit rains in the last 24 hours, Jamshedpur has also managed to surpass its monthly rains of 248 mm. So far in June, with already a week left, the city has already recorded 275 mm of rains and more showers are in the offing.
As for the forecast, rains may not be as heavy as yesterday for the next three days and some light showers will be seen. However, around the end of June, rainfall will once again pick up pace and some good showers are expected during that time.
