During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Ahmedabad observed very heavy rains of 100 mm resulting in flooding in many areas. The city also witnessed a whopping 41 mm of rainfall on July 2. In fact, moderate showers have been lashing one of the largest cities of Gujarat for the last few days.
These weather conditions can be attributed to the presence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over South Gujarat and adjoining areas. Moisture incursion had increased over the region resulting in cloud development and heavy rains over the city.
