These hefty showers will continue for the next two to three days. Therefore many districts of Assam may once again face the fury of floods. Few heavy spells are also expected over Assam and Meghalaya while remaining northeastern states will continue with light to moderate intensity showers. Thereafter also, on and off rains will continue for the entire week.

As on August 30, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura is rain surplus by 27 percent whereas Arunachal Pradesh is rain deficient by 10 percent and Assam and Meghalaya by 13 percent of rain. Due to upcoming hefty showers, the rain deficiency is likely to reduce over the rain deficient states.
