But now, the weather has become dry over almost the entire northeastern states. The remnants of the Western Disturbance which were the main reason for these rains has now moved away.

Now, dry weather conditions are expected to continue for the next 24 hours. Thereafter, scattered rain and thundershower activities will once again resume over the eastern parts of upper Assam and Arunachal Pradesh on February 18 and 19.

However, all the other states of northeast India such as Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura will continue with dry weather conditions. Days will become warm over most places and nights will be cool and pleasant.

Although the months of January, February and March receive the least rainfall over northeast India but whenever a western disturbance travels along the foothills it gives rains over Assam and Arunachal Pradesh but majority of northeastern states remain dry.

Sometimes when a cyclonic circulation develops over Bangladesh or adjoining areas it gives rains over Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura due to the moisture feed from Bay of Bengal.
