At present a trough is seen extending from western parts of Assam to Arunachal Pradesh. Moreover, the remnants of the ongoing Western Disturbance will also start affecting Assam and Arunachal Pradesh by tomorrow. Intensity of rain will start reducing by the evening of March 24.

Thereafter, another good spell of rains in expected over the northeastern parts around March 30. Till then weather will not go completely dry but on and off light rains will continue.

Day temperatures are expected to drop for the next 2 3 days and will start rising marginally after that.

It has been observed that whenever an active Western Disturbance affects the Western Himalayas, it travels along the foothills of Himalayas towards Northeast India.

Thus, the northern states of Northeast India such as Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, receive scattered rain and thundershower activities.
