Western parts of Rajasthan have gone dry for quite some time and temperatures have been seen a rising trend. Moreover, the maximum temperatures have been settling in the higher 30s and sometimes even close to 40 degrees Celsius over these areas.
On the other hand, the eastern parts of the state have enjoyed comfortable weather conditions with even rains appearing over several areas. The last system, which had intensified into a Cyclone, Daye had given good rains over many parts of the country. It even caused hefty showers over the northwestern plains resulting in the delay of the withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon.
Generally, the month of September remains hot but this time, the system that caused rains also delayed the heat which is usually a prominent feature by this time. Now, the system has moved away, and weather has become dry over the state. In fact, in less than a week, Rajasthan will slip into the Post Monsoon season.
Skies in Rajasthan have become clear, temperatures have started to rise significantly, humidity has dropped significantly, and winds have also changed their course. These weather conditions are likely to stay over the state which will result in the withdrawal process.
Moreover, yesterday, the maximum temperature in Jaisalmer settled at 39.8 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest city of the country. Cities of Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Barmer have also seen maximums settling in the higher 30s only.
