The busiest travel day of the year in the US is set to see some disturbance as a Winter storm is all set to approach the West Coast on Thanksgiving Day. Snow, rain and gusty winds might usher California and Nevada early next week. It will gain more strength by early Tuesday while approaching southern Oregon and Northern California, before diving southward into Arizona and Utah through Thursday.
According to the data, more than 55 million travelers are expected between the weekends before and after Thanksgiving.
The wet weather combined with gusty winds across the state will cause travel concerns for much of the region on Wednesday and Thursday. Places like San Francisco and Sacramento are set to get affected.
Apart from widespread flooding and mudslides, travel woes are anticipated with the rounds of heavy rain over Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and San Diego throughout the week.
Snow will also stretch into Arizona, starting in northwestern parts of the state late Wednesday night, then spreading across the North of the state by Friday.
Not just the US, parts of New Mexico will also get to bear the brunt of this storm. Swathes of snow and heavy rain are likely over New Mexico and western Texas on Wednesday.
The storm is expected to move eastward during the final days of November and cause more travel disruptions for those in the Plains.
