The residents of Northwest India would find relief from freezing weather conditions owing to the approaching Western Disturbance. The system is likely to affect the northern hills by tonight, as a result of which, clouding will increase over the plains of Northwest India.
The maximums have already increased by two to three degree Celcius in parts of Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan during the last 24 hours and the situation is likely to get better.
According to our meteorologists, due to the approaching system, the speed of north/northwesterly winds is going to decrease gradually. The layer of fog might also disappear and sunshine will take over as the day progresses. All these conditions would lead to an increase in the day temperatures, resulting in the abatement of cold day conditions from parts of Northwest India.
However, the upcoming system is not likely to be as severe as the previous one and may not impact the temperatures significantly all across Northwest India. But, a marginal increase of two to three degree Celcius would be noticed within the next 24 hours.
The Western Disturbance might also bring light rain for extreme northern parts of Punjab and Haryana on December 20 and 21.
