Delhi and the NCR had been witnessing dry weather conditions for about three weeks now. In fact, the last rainy spell that the city witnessed was around January 23. Thereafter, rainfall activity completely took a backseat.

With no rain show, temperatures during the day also settled in the comfortable range. Along with this, foggy mornings also remained on the backseat resulting in clear weather conditions throughout the day.

Presently, a Western Disturbance is persisting over Jammu and Kashmir region. Its induced cyclonic circulation is over Northwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas. Along with this, a confluence zone is also over Central India.

Thus, with these weather features, Delhi and the NCR region will witness light rain and thundershowers today. These rains are expected to persist during the next 24 hours. The possibility of hailstorm in some parts cannot be ruled out as well.

Due to these rains, maximum temperatures will witness a significant drop resulting in chilly weather conditions during the day. Thereafter, minimum temperature will also witness a drop.
