Another wet spell approaching North India, parts of Central and East India

March 11, 2015 12:36 PM |

As reiterated by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, another wet spell is approaching North India, parts of Central and East India in the next 24 hours. Weathermen say that a cyclonic circulation is coming up in south Rajasthan and Gujarat on March 12, which will then shift over north Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, giving rain in the region.

In March, cyclonic circulations come up in Rajasthan and Gujarat that later shift eastward and effect the weather in the region. However, their impact is not large until and unless there is a western Disturbance in the hills.

The WD works in tandem with the cyclonic circulation and gives more weather in terms of space time and intensity.
This is exactly what is expected to happen this time. By March 12-13, the cyclonic circulation will come up in Rajasthan and give rain over north and east Rajasthan and west Madhya Pradesh. By March 14 a Western Disturbance is expected to come up in the hills, which will increase the spread of rainfall in the region.

The national Capital Delhi is expected to receive rain from the night of March 13. But from March 14 onwards the rainfall activity will spread to entire north India and continue till March 15. Bihar and Jharkhand are also expected to witness some rain during this period.

The hills during this period will again observe some snow, while the plains are likely to witness hailstorms at some places. By March 16, the rainfall activity will begin to recede.
