Bengaluru has been receiving light rains only since August 5. Rains have been going on here on a daily basis, although the intensity has remained light only with a few moderate spells.
Now, we expect on and off rainfall activities to continue in Bengaluru for another week or so. Throughout this rainy episode, the intensity would remain light and no hefty showers are expected. However, one or two short intense spells cannot be ruled out.
As the Monsoon surge over Kerala is still intact, South Interior Karnataka will get to see a few good spells of rain. The weather would remain comfortable and pleasant. And the sky conditions would be cloudy throughout the week.
According to our meteorologists, the situation of serious flooding or waterlogging may not arise as the intensity would remain light only.
The city is located on the lee side of the Western Ghats. Being a rain shadow area, it does not record much rain during the Monsoon. In a span of 14 days, the city has witnessed only two spells of moderate rains on August 9 and August 13 to the tune of 21 mm and 19 mm, respectively.
