Many parts of Rajasthan have observed moderate to heavy rain and thundershower activities during the last 24 hours. In fact, good monsoon rains have been lashing the state since the last two days.

In the last 24 hours, from 8:30 am on Thursday, Sikar has received 128 mm of rainfall, followed by Churu 97 mm, Jaipur 93 mm, Pilani 72 mm, Alwar 40 mm, Kota and Bikar 6 mm of rainfall each.

At present, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Northwest Rajasthan. Also, the axis of the Monsoon Trough is extending from Northwest Rajasthan up to Northeast India. Both these systems were responsible for giving heavy rains over the state during the last few days.

According to Skymet Weather, as the prominent weather systems are still persisting, moderate to heavy monsoon rains will continue over the eastern and northern parts of the state for the next 24 hours. The pink city of Jaipur may get to see moderate rains with isolated heavy spells.

Thereafter, the western end of the axis of Monsoon Trough would tilt southwards, thus shifting the rain belt towards Southeast Rajasthan. This shifting would give the enhanced rainfall activities over Kota, Rajsamand, Jhalawar, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, etc after 24 hours.

Gradually, this rain belt would shift further in south directions and give good rains in Jalore, Pali, Barmer and in parts of Jodhpur, most probably around July 28. Thereafter, the rain belt will move towards the Kutch region of Gujarat and consequently, rains will taper here.

Thus, we can say that the next two to three days would be one of the rainiest ones for Rajasthan. These good rains would certainly bring down the rain deficiency and ease out the drought-like conditions, persisting in many areas of the state.
