Another spell of snow and rain expected in J&K, HP and Uttarakhand

According to the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, another Western Disturbance is expected to arrive during the weekend to bring a fresh spell of snow and rain over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

However, northwest plains over Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh will not witness much rain this time. Latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India suggests some rain on 17th evening or 18th Morning. The sky will be cloudy and would provide relief  from the day temperatures that could rise significantly by then in the plains.

Night temperatures would again rise in the Western Himalayan region and the northwest plains from 14th March as clouds would restrict the heat from escaping the atmosphere.

The present Western Disturbance has brought good amount of snow and rain in the Western Himalayan region since the 10th of March and the latest weather update indicates improvement in the weather conditions from tomorrow onwards. The weather system would move away from the region to let northerly winds to resume. Due to this, night temperatures in these region would witness a fall during the next two days.

Since 1st January till now, winter rain has been normal in Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, while it is in excess in Uttarakhand. In the plains, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi have observed normal rain while west Uttar Pradesh and east Rajasthan have recorded excessive winter rainfall this year. West Rajasthan however, recorded scanty rain.
