As predicted by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, Delhi received good amounts of widespread rain on Saturday. Though it has now reduced in intensity, we cannot rule out the possibility of rain in the national capital and its adjoining areas on Sunday night as well.

Some locations in Delhi that received rain on Saturday are Safdarjung where 9.8 mm of rain was recorded, Palam 19.2 mm, Noida 11 mm, Hindon 8.6 mm and Akshardham 3 mm. The rainfall amounts were a little higher in northwest and south Delhi with Pitampura receiving 18 mm of rain, Pusa 26 mm. In west Delhi, Mungeshpur and Nazafgarh received 6 mm each. Another spell of rain is likely in Delhi from Sunday night onwards to Monday morning.

Temperatures in Delhi

Rain triggered by a fresh Western Disturbance brought down maximum temperatures significantly, way below normal. This rainy spell is expected to last for another 24 hours but it will not be as intense as the last spell.

Sunday remained overcast, keeping maximum temperature way below normal average around 24°C. Last weekend, a strong Western Disturbance had given record breaking rain over Delhi and NCR, surpassing the monthly average rainfall of 13 mm in three days itself.
