Another spell of pre-Monsoon rains to lash Rajasthan soon

Rajasthan has been reeling under dry weather conditions that lasted for almost the entire month of February. However, the month of March came up with some light showers that eradicated the prolonged dry spell prevailing in the state.

Rajasthan and its districts witnessed light showers on March 7 that continued on and off until March 11 and reduced thereafter. Since then, dry weather has again been prevailing in parts of the state thereby leading the temperatures to rise.

At present also, the daytime high in Rajasthan are settling in upper 30 degrees wherein, most parts have observed the mercury even soaring 35°C plus.

However, as per Skymet Weather, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayan region and will affect northwest plains by March 19. Moreover, an induced cyclonic circulation also persists over Central Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan.

With the combined effect of both these weather systems, parts of Rajasthan can brace for some rains paving the way towards the state. Scattered light rain and thundershowers with dust storm are expected to show up in parts of Rajasthan on March 18.

Additionally, few districts of northeast Rajasthan can look up for pre-Monsoon showers along with thundershowers and squally winds on March 19. These rains will though not bring down the temperatures much but marginal relief from the sultry and soaring weather is still foreseen.
