Bihar has been receiving pre-Monsoon showers since last night. Thereafter also, the cloudy weather had been prevailing across the state, particularly in North Bihar. News of a lady dying due to the lightning strike in the Champaran district of the state has also been reported.

In span of last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Bhagalpur has received 5.3 mm of rains, Chapra 6 mm, Forbesganj 27.3 mm, Gaya 1.6, Muzaffarpur 8.8 mm, Patna 11.8 mm, Purnea 30.9 mm, and Supaul 22.9 mm.

These rains have also marked an end to the prolonged dry spell over the state. As per Skymet Weather, the current weather condition is also cloudy and hence, rains are expected to pour over the Champaran, Motihari, Supaul, and Sitamarhi districts almost any time now.

Skymet Weather reiterates that these downpours were a result of a cyclonic circulation that has been persisting over Chhattisgarh and a trough is also seen extending along the foothills of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Moreover, another trough was also extending from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Odisha.

The southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal are feeding in moisture, which are also enhancing the rains.

As of now, rains in Bihar are expected to continue until the next 24 hours, reducing thereafter. Henceforth, parts of Bihar will brace for some isolated rainy spells but the possibility of good rainfall is ruled out.

With close to clear sky showing up, temperatures will once again start rising.
