After remaining dry from a long time, rains have finally made an appearance over Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

As per Skymet Weather, due to the formation of a cyclonic circulation over Southeast Rajasthan and adjoining West Madhya Pradesh, scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers occurred over many parts of East and Southeast Rajasthan.

Moreover, another cyclonic circulation was over East Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. A trough was also extending from this system up to south Tamil Nadu across Vidarbha. This has resulted in rain along with thundershowers over South and Southeast districts of Madhya Pradesh.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Chittorgarh observed 3 mm of rains while Jaipur recorded rains of 0.8 mm. During the similar time frame, Guna witnessed 8.9 mm of rainfall, Umaria 3.4 mm, Satna 2.6 mm, Khajuraho 1.2 mm. Jabalpur and Gwalior recorded a few traces of rains as well.

Additionally, the temperatures across Rajasthan were scaling up and settling in lower 30’s. Therefore, the possibility of the formation of cumulonimbus clouds also increased and hence one or two places in Southeast region of the state did witness hailstorm activity.

Skymet Weather further reiterates that these rain and hailstorm activity can prove may have affected Rabi crops.

However, now both the weather systems are moving away which is why the weather across both Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh is expected to become dry resulting in the maximums to climb up once again. Afternoons will become warm and uneasy for both the states.
