After heavy showers of over 100 mm on Saturday, another spell of heavy rain lashed several parts of the national capital Delhi today creating a situation of chaos. Complaints of water-logging, overflowing drains and traffic jams were reported from various parts of the city.
Nizamudin bridge, Ashram, Mathura road, near Pragati Maidan, Kalindi Kunj, ITO, Dahula Kuan and Kashmere gate (ISBT) were some of the areas where traffic moved at a snail’s pace due to waterlogged roads.
And if this ordeal was not enough, our weather experts have predicted more rain in Delhi for the next 24 hours. However, this rain would not be strong in intensity and would only be passing showers.
Delhi on Saturday had received 120 mm of rain which had thrown normal life completely out of gear. Over three hours of heavy rain had created chaos in the city and exposed the preparedness of the civic body in handling problems of waterlogging.
