Delhi rains were shying away from the national capital for an extended period. March began on a warm note with temperatures ranging above the 30-degree mark.

Each day, a maximum high record was set. The maximum reached around 34.1 degree Celsius. However, things took a turn when rain gods decided to shower their blessings on Delhi. The first weekend in March began on a rainy day.

The combination of a Western Disturbance and an anti-cyclone resulted in good rains over the national capital. Delhiites rejoiced as they witnessed good showers after a five-month long dry spell.

Last year, similar weather conditions prevailed in Delhi during March. The first half of March mostly received rain. March ended on a rainy note with good showers lashing the national capital and keeping temperatures under check.

After good rains last weekend, another rainy spell is approaching Delhi-NCR. Rains are likely to commence around late evening hours of March 11. Good showers will continue over the national capital on March 12 and 13.

Delhiites will be able to enjoy a second rainy weekend in a row. This rainy spell will once again bring down the increased temperatures. Excessive heat will mostly remain absent from the national capital.

After dry December, January and February, March is likely to see much more rain. The average monthly rainfall in March is around 16 mm. So far, the city has already received 6 mm of rain.

There may be a spike in temperatures in between when days are dry. However, rain will keep these temperatures under check. Simply speaking, March will not be as hot as it was during the first few days.
