Another rainy day for Durg, Ambikapur, Jagdalpur, Angul, Sambalpur and Koraput

The Low-Pressure Area, lying over Odisha and adjoining parts of Chhattisgarh has been giving light to moderate rains in both the state for quite some time now. This system is expected to bring in more rains for Durg, Ambikapur, Jagdalpur, Angul, Sambalpur, and Koraput during the next 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, from 8:30 am on Saturday, Ambikapur has recorded 85.4 mm of rainfall, followed by Durg 40.6 mm, Jagdalpur 32.2 mm, Raipur 25.8 mm and Rajnandgaon 11 mm of rainfall.

Similarly, places in Odisha such as Sambalpur has recorded 26.2 mm of rains, followed by Titlagarh 23.0 mm, Angul 21.6 mm and Koraput 20 mm of rainfall.

Now, the above Low-Pressure Area has slightly moved west/northwestwards and is aligned over the northern parts of the Chhattisgarh region. Moreover, a Cyclonic Circulation associated with this system is extending up to 5.8 km. Due to this weather system, light to moderate rain and thundershowers will continue in many parts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Places like Pendra road, Durg, Ambikapur, Durg, Dantewada, Jagdalpur, Angul, Sambalpur, and Koraput are likely to receive moderate rain and thundershowers during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, rains will taper over the region.

As this system moves away from Odisha and Chhattisgarh, rainfall activity would decrease, however, scattered places in both the states may get to see rain and thundershower activities until June 24 or 25.
