Another low pressure area likely over Bay of BengalDuring Monsoon, various systems occur both in the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea. These systems namely, cyclonic circulations, off shore troughs, low pressure areas, vortices and a few other systems decide how the performance of Monsoon will be.

Bay of Bengal is host to quite a number of systems during Monsoon. On an average, four systems are formed in the Bay every month. Usually these systems bring very good rains over various parts of the country.

At present, a trough is extending from Bihar and Bay of Bengal. This feature will further help a cyclonic circulation to come up over Bangladesh and the West Bengal region. In the next 24 hours, this system will further shift towards North Bay of Bengal. This Monsoon system will take around 48 hours to get organized and give rain over some parts of the country.

Under the influence of this system, a low pressure area will develop between August 24 and 25. The low pressure after getting organized will give good rains over areas including West Bengal, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. Also, the spread of rainfall will be over the entire country as a whole.

This system will also bring the axis of the Monsoon trough down towards the south close to its actual position in another 3 to 4 days or so. Thus, good rains is likely over various parts of the country particularly over West Bengal, and adjoining areas in the next few days or so.
