Monsoon rains have become heavy in parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during the last 24 hours. The city of Jagdalpur has observed heavy Monsoon showers for the second consecutive day. And a similar weather condition is likely here for the next two days. Likewise, the western and southwestern parts of Madhya Pradesh such as Sehore, Guna, Bhopal, etc have observed heavy showers.
The ongoing rains can be attributed to the Cyclonic Circulation over South Chhattisgarh and adjoining Odisha. The axis of Monsoon Trough is still passing through the southern parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. These systems will continue to give heavy Monsoon showers over South Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for another 24 to 48 hours. Places such as Sehore, Guna, Bhopal, Jagdalpur, etc would be the ones to get drenched.
Meanwhile, the central and northern districts of Chhattisgarh will continue to get good rainfall activities. Gradually, the spread and cover of rains will increase and many other parts would also experience heavy rains.
These activities are likely until August 2 and would be accompanied by local flooding in parts of South Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
Further, in the coming days, one after the other Low-Pressure Areas would make their presence felt, thus keeping the Monsoon rains active over these states.
The good amounts of rainfall have helped West Madhya Pradesh to become surplus with rains. We expect rainfall amounts to become surplus in East Madhya Pradesh as well considering the chances of good showers in the coming days.
