The entire state of Odisha has been experiencing dry and warm weather conditions since the last 48 hours. However, now an upper air trough is developing and extending from Bihar to Karnataka in the lower levels.
We expect this weather system to strengthen further and shift towards east. Thus, warm and moist wind are expected to affect over the entire Odisha and its adjoining regions.
In fact, due to the presence of this system, we expect light to moderate rain and thundershowers to occur over many places of Odisha during the next 48 hours.
Meanwhile, during next 12 to 18 hours, in the absence of any significant weather activity, both day and night temperatures will increase. Thereafter, due to rain and clouding over the area, day temperatures will decrease, and night temperatures will continue to remain the same.
Rain and thundershower with strong winds (30-50kmph)will affect at some places over Angul, Balangir, Baleshwar, Bargarh, Baudh, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Debagarh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghapur, Jajapur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, Kendujhar, Khordha, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangapur, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Puri, Rayagada, Sambalpur, Subarnapur and Sundargarh the districts of Odisha between March 3 to 6, 2019.
Moreover, as rains accompanied with strong winds are harmful for the most parts of India, these rains are likely to be useful for sowing of paddy crop in Odisha.
